The department was founded in the year 2010 and provides a range of academic programs, including B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. offerings in the field of Physics.
The department boasts a team of faculty members who are both qualified and experienced. The college is sponsored by DST FIST funds and boasts cutting-edge infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories and a departmental library. Additionally, dedicated research laboratories are available for student use.
The department has established an international collaboration with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, resulting in a Memorandum of Understanding. As part of this collaboration, Mr. Femi David, a researcher from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, did bench work in Physics research within the department.
The department has six research guides available for PhD course. Currently 12 students are doing a PhD at the research centre. Five students awarded fellowship for PhD from MAHAJYOTI, Govt of Maharashtra. In the current year 2024 total 16 research papers published in the international reputed  journals.
From groundbreaking research to shaping future scientists
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."
— Albert Einstein
Physics is the foundation of our universe, the silent force behind every motion, energy, and interaction we experience. From the smallest atoms to the vastness of space, it explains the mysteries of existence and fuels innovations that shape our future. Whether it’s the technology in our hands, the energy that powers our world, or the cosmic wonders beyond our reach, physics is at the heart of it all. As we continue to explore its depths, we unlock limitless possibilities, proving that understanding the laws of nature is the key to shaping a better tomorrow.
